About 2012 programme
During the 3, 4 and 5 July 2012, iPAD Angola marked on the calendar what is expected to be the second reconstruction phase of the post-war period and brought together high level officials from the Angolan government, public and private company executives, diplomatic officials and representatives of finance institutions. They shared experiences, knowledge and discussed infrastructure programmes, investment opportunities, technological innovation and legal and regulatory updates in the following sectors and workshop:

Industry, Transport & Logistics and Investment are foundations upon which the infrastructural development of the other verticals is made possible. This session provided stakeholders with a thorough understanding of the national plan for industrial development, urban and rural logistic integration, projects on transport infrastructures as well as on Angolan credit tools availability, and the local and regional intensification of the presence of banks. |

The Power topic covered the medium and long term plans to overcome the infrastructural problems that post war power infrastructure is facing. Furthermore, whoever wants to have success in Angola within this sector was expected to attend the closing session with delegates from the Water and Sanitation vertical, where the impact of the new environmental law on both these verticals was thoroughly analyzed. |

The Mining sector is one of Angola’s economic pillars. Apart from diamonds, Angola has other mineral resources to explore, such as iron, copper and ornamental stones. Hot topics as the new paradigm for mining production and exploration within the new mining code, prospection and feasibility studies, the new iron programme, etc. were addressed within the scope of public and private sustainable collaboration. |

Telecommunications is one of the most advanced and prominent verticals in the country. Service maximization through satellite technology, infrastructure sharing and technological convergence, among others, led the agenda. This session of the conference analyzed the new legal and regulatory framework, technologies and solutions to improve service access in urban and rural areas. |

The National Water Plan, the design of master plans, the sector regulation plan and the new environmental law comprised the heart and first thematic of this programme. Later this shifted to a short term opportunity plan within the scope of household connections, distribution networks, collection of waste water, rehabilitation of the hydrometric network and technological upgrade of the sector. |

For that reason this workshop was designed to provide investors with essential knowledge on legal and regulatory frameworks, bureaucratic processes, credit sources, and practical application of the new investment law, among other aspects. |
